In the indigenous and rural communities of western Bolivia, it is very important to receive the good news with music. During the inauguration of the water pumping system using solar panels in the Chojñacota community, neighbors Lorenzo Calle Mollo, Pascual Soto Mollo and Mario Mollo Calle gathered on October 3, 2023 to play the tarka, a traditional instrument of the area, in appreciation of the project financed by IFAD and made viable by Pro-Camélidos. The system will supply water to 33 families and their llama and alpaca livestock. Through this project, the Bolivian government is promoting improvements in the living conditions of families associated with the camelid complex, achieving an increase in livestock productivity through climate change resilient actions over the last six years. The Program aims to address the challenges of the camelid producer sector, working to reduce obstacles and difficulties in primary production. |
