Javid Samijonzoda, 30 old old, is the son of Juraev Sami, head of the Sami Juraev Agricultural Machinery Service Provider. Javid is married and has two children. From 2015 till 2021, he regularly went to the Russian Federation as a migrant labourer. In 2022, he spent only three months working there during the winter months when the farm was not active. From March through October, he works full-time together with his father and other members of the dehkan farm. Now that the farm and the agricultural machinery service centre are well established, Javid no longer has to search for work away from his home and his family. CASP provided Javid’s father, Juraev Sami, with a 50 per cent matching grant in 2023 to establish an Agricultural Machinery Service Provider business. Not only does he now have the machinery he needs for his own farm, but he is also providing agricultural machinery services to other dehkan farmers nearby. He uses the tractor, plough and sowing tools to prepare the fields for cultivation at the right times and for a fee that is much more affordable, thus leading to greater productivity and profit both for himself and for neighbouring farmers. |
