From 26 November-2 December 2023, an 11-member delegation of the Executive Board from Algeria, Angola, Austria, China, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Sweden and Switzerland visited Uganda to see first-hand IFAD’s investments in action in the field. During the visit the EB members had a chance to interact with private sector, small-scale farmers and government officials to hear from them how different IFAD-funded interventions in the country are transforming the lives of rural communities and creating jobs for SMEs. The team visited Kamp Feed Limited in Nwoya SME producing animal feed and sourcing from small-scale farmers; Project for the Restoration of Livelihoods in the Northern Region (PLENOR) in Gulu where they saw a infrastructure (bridge) connecting farmers to markets, interacted with farmer groups and met a household that had been mentored and National Oil Palm Project (NOPP) in Kalangala Island where they met small-scale farmers rearing pigs, farmers with oil palm plantations and private sector processing the oil palm. |
